Our Ronald McDonald House provides housing and meals for families of pediatric patients 21 years and younger being treated at area hospital locations (Cooper University Healthcare, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, and Wills Eye Hospital).
RMHSNJ accommodations are for patients and immediate family/caregivers only.*
For outpatients receiving treatment, we require a minimum of two appointments within the same week for the duration of stay.
Patients with high-risk pregnancies also qualify to stay with us.
Families must live at least 20 miles away from the House and utilize the bedroom suite once every 24 hours.
Room requests must be received by referral from either a social worker, nurse, or physician at the patient’s hospital or doctor’s office.
All room requests are honored, but due to high demand you may be placed on a waiting list.
Effective June 17, 2019, a criminal background check will be required for all guests over the age of 18, including the patient. A link will be provided. If a background check has not been completed for an adult over 18 prior to arrival that individual will not be permitted to stay. If a background check comes back unfavorably or has not been completed prior to arrival, that individual will not be permitted to stay. Background checks are valid for 12 months.
All guests must be up to date on vaccinations, including measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, unless medically exempt. Documentation of medical exemption may be requested.
RMHSNJ is a welcoming and inclusive environment, open to all eligible families.
Families traveling with additional children other than the patient are required to have a 2nd caregiver on site during their stay.
* Special accommodations for additional family members may be available at RMHSNJ and partner hospital discretion when medically necessary.
Photo ID is required for all registered guests upon check-in
